If You Want Investment Banker Jokes....

Fridays always give me a lift as I wind down for the weekend, and most especially so when my mind is cleared of pending projects. Okay, you remember my post regarding Names where I mentioned that I have a namesake in my barkada? Well, my frat bro Sar O. invited me some time back to join MySpace, where he blogs mostly about his travels (lucky guy, working for a multinational firm based in Singapore). I did sign up last February without meaning to get active there.

After a month of inactivity, I'm suddenly interested in MySpace. You probably guessed that the recent news about MySpace launching last Sunday the Impact Channel, a section dedicated to the 2008 U.S. presidential election, had something to do with my uncharacteristic enthusiasm about MySpace. Obama, Hillary Clinton, Rudolph Giuliani, McCain, and the other presidential hopefuls now have personal pages there. Who am I to snob MySpace? Ha, ha...

Honestly, I think MySpace's layout can stand some major face lift. That may be the look and feel that appeal to young people but I find it rather cluttered, making navigating there for the untrained eye quite challenging. However, that's of no matter now that I have decided to blog there, warts and all. One last problem: what do I blog about and do I really still have time for another blog?

I found the answers to those questions yesterday. I was rummaging through my office files looking for an old article on Securitization which I downloaded from the Web in 2000 when I found them. Apparently, I printed hard copies of some forwarded e-mails which I have since deleted from my computer but which interested me at that time. These were an assortment of famous quotations, rare trivia,and witty jokes. Yeesss! That's it, jokes it will be!

And so that's how it came to pass that my blog in MySpace contains nothing else but very lightly annotated investment banker jokes.
